Haven’t posted in a while…a LONG while, as I look at it. lol *shrugs*
Life has done like a huge 180 or something…I dunno.
There was Brett and Eric’s visit, which was full of awesome..except when Brett got mad at Eric or something and they went home…but it was still fun for the while they were here. Then that sort of sparked lots of other stuff…the particulars I don’t remember…meeting people and having nights out at the bar and stuff.
Then there was a really really really bad Dark Moon period where I didn’t get out of bed for like a week. That ended with everyone at work QQing at me about making them happy…but which spurred me to make ME happy. A random craigslist posting that I replied too offhandedly about ASP.NET development and game programming…which turned out to be the Plow Digital people that I saw at the beginning of the year. Well, after a bit there was an interview, and swiftly following that I’m now working for an interactive media and game design firm!
I’m considered an independent contractor, which in itself is interesting…because I’m my own S2Tech or something. Plus, I make a little over twice what I made for them! It’s an environment that is open and free for thought and expression: I wear all my piercings…any clothes that I want. I have a really nice PC at work with two huge LCD monitors…and I’m working on projects that I really, truly, love! I come home after work and I continue to work on them because I actually want them to be the best they can be! Not to mention everyone at work is cute lol
I am really, truly, happy…it’s a little unnerving to be honest. It’s so weird…and I keep waiting to wake up…or for some other shoe to drop or something. I dunno…
All I know is I’m really happy right now =)
Where this is going…I’m not sure. Today, I had a meeting about game ideas that are being pitched to some companies (I’d be more specific, but I dare not violate the NDA…) and my input was actually considered! PLUS, if said companies accept the ideas, I’ll get to work on them! It’s SOO cool! I actually look forward to going into work each day!
So yeah…that’s where I am right now =) Essentially, my Cali Plan has been pushed back a little bit while I continue getting some of this experience under my belt and hopefully put something into savings! And maybe things will work out so well that I’ll end up staying here for a long time! …so much happy lol
Not sure what else to say…just thought I’d post an update cause I’ve not in a while… plus I’m kinda bored waiting to go out to dinner.
*shrugs* Anywho…that’s that.
